Sector Focus: Diversified Industrials
Clare began his career in the United States Air Force, managing contracts with industries to develop manufacturing techniques for ceramic nose cones to protect the electronics in the emerging supersonic missile world. Next was CoorsTek, a manufacturer of technical ceramics for a wide range of applications, where he led the development of ceramic substrates for electronic circuits that became the platform for IBM and Western Electric thick and thin film circuitry. He served in a number of operating positions, from plant manager to VP of sales and group vice president, and was on the board of CT for two subsidiaries, one of which was a very successful manufacturing company in Singapore.
