CLA Meridian Capital Advises Hostwinds on Acquisition by HostPapa
Published May 27, 2026
SEATTLE, Wash. — Hostwinds LLC (“Hostwinds”), a Seattle-based web hosting and cloud infrastructure provider, was acquired by HostPapa Inc. (“HostPapa”), a leading global web hosting and cloud services platform, in April 2026. CLA Meridian Capital served as exclusive financial advisor to Hostwinds in the transaction. Davis Wright Tremaine LLP served as legal advisor to Hostwinds.
Founded in 2010, Hostwinds has built a global customer base through its comprehensive portfolio of shared hosting, cloud VPS, dedicated server, and reseller hosting solutions. The company operates data center infrastructure across Seattle, Dallas, and Amsterdam, supporting customers ranging from developers and agencies to small and medium-sized businesses worldwide.
The transaction strengthens HostPapa’s infrastructure footprint and expands its capabilities across the full hosting stack, while further reinforcing ongoing consolidation and strategic investment activity across the cloud infrastructure and hosting sectors.
“Hostwinds has always been about delivering a better hosting experience for the businesses and developers who depend on us,” said Hostwinds founder Peter Holden. “HostPapa has built a world-class platform with the resources and reach to help us do that at a much larger scale. I’m proud of what our team has built, and I’m confident our customers are in great hands.”
“Hostwinds adds a tremendous amount of value to HostPapa,” said Patrick Ringland, Principal and Managing Director at CLA Meridian Capital. “This transaction follows broader trends we’re seeing in the hosting and cloud infrastructure market where scale, platform depth, and customer experience are the primary drivers for investors.”
“Peter and the Hostwinds team have done an outstanding job developing a differentiated, highly resilient web hosting and cloud services platform and setting the stage for this milestone transaction,” added Tim Johnson, Vice President at CLA Meridian Capital. “We are excited to watch the continued growth of Hostwinds and HostPapa as they scale their combined platform.”
CLA Meridian Capital’s Technology team advises founder-led, middle-market businesses across software, digital infrastructure, cloud services, managed services, and broader technology-enabled sectors. This transaction further underscores CLA Meridian Capital’s growing presence in digital infrastructure and hosting-related markets with demand for scalable platforms, resilient infrastructure, and recurring revenue models.
Hostwinds joins a growing portfolio of hosting and infrastructure businesses under the HostPapa umbrella, which includes Hostopia, ColoCrossing, and CloudBlue.
