Transaction Description
Athena Ag, headquartered out of Jacksonville, FL but with substantial operations throughout California and the western U.S., is one of the largest and fastest growing developers, producers and marketers of branded crop nutrition products. The Company produces a variety of liquid, soluble and dry fertilizer products for delivery through fertigation systems which is more efficient that traditional fertilizing spraying techniques. As a result of the Company’s rapidly growing operations, Athena needed to acquire one of its contract manufacturers to add capacity and improve the efficiency of the overall operation. Athena Ag hired Meridian Capital to assist in managing all aspects of the transaction, including preparing respective valuations, managing negotiations between the parties, and assistance with due diligence and structuring and documentation of the transaction.
