On June 17th, 2019 the Meridian Capital Aerospace Team ventured to France for the 53rd International Paris Air Show to learn, network, and collaborate with the international aerospace industry.
The week kicked off with the Choose Washington, Washington State Reception, hosting the largest Washington delegation in history with over 80 members. As a Seattle-based firm, Meridian had the opportunity to socialize and foster relationships with some of the leading aerospace companies in their backyard.
The second day, Meridian joined the Global M&A aerospace team, an international partnership of investment banks across 30 countries, for a day of collaboration on industry trends and cross-border M&A opportunities. In attendance were partner firms from leading aerospace countries including France, Germany, and Spain. The conference offered unique insights into European investor interests and valuation dynamics. Global M&A provides Meridian unparalleled access to a global investor universe through local resources that have established contacts and engage in regular conversations with international industry participants.
Following the conference, the team attended two days at the Air Show in Le Bourget for the third year, joining the 2,400+ exhibitors from nearly 50 countries. Meridian held meetings throughout with a combination of strategic and private equity investors to strengthen relationships and discuss what they are seeing in the market and understand key focus areas for investment. Between meetings, the exhibition halls offered a wealth of knowledge on new companies and technologies transforming the industry. Outside, the tarmac full of aircrafts and flying demonstration allowed the team to experience firsthand the innovation in commercial and military aircraft.
